LG Electronics is getting creative with its smartphone lineup again. The electronics maker is rolling out the LG eXpo in an exclusive partnership with AT&T.

The LG eXpo is not only the first phone in the U.S. with a one-gigahertz processor, it's also the first to come with a mobile projector add-on for business professionals who need to share data on the fly. The phone will run on AT&T's HSPA 7.2 network.

Mobile-phone users who want directions are in for a treat in October. AT&T has been given the exclusive rights to sell Garmin's new nuvifone G60 mobile device.

Beginning Oct. 4, AT&T will have the exclusive rights to sell Garmin's new GPS-equipped smartphone, Garmin International and AT&T announced Tuesday.

Because of the exclusive arrangement, the nuvifone G60 will only be available with a two-year service agreement. It will cost $399 and come with a $100 mail-in-rebate at AT&T retail stores and through its Web site.

AT&T and Nokia on Monday announced the Nokia Surge. The companies are touting it as a socially supercharged smartphone empowered over AT&T's 3G network.

In stores on July 19, the Nokia Surge is aimed at consumers who want to stay connected via IM, text or e-mail; update social-network status; and send multimedia messages to friends and family.

AT&T is poised to launch a new Motorola handset later this month that is expressly designed to deliver mobile socializing capabilities. Called the Karma, the 3G handset with QWERTY keyboard -- which will retail for $79.99 after the mail-in rebate -- combines text messaging and instant messaging with one-click Facebook and MySpace icons on the device's home screen.

AT&T Wireless Services has fired up a new 3G smartphone from HTC that combines a slide-out QWERTY-style keypad with a 2.8-inch touch-sensitive screen and intuitive one-touch access to selected functions. The HTC Fuze will let users navigate from one place to the next by touching, holding and sliding screen tabs.

AT&T has just launched yet another trendy 3G smartphone with advanced touchscreen capabilities. Called the Samsung Epix, the new enterprise-class handset will be exclusively available in the United States through AT&T, just like Apple's iPhone 3G.

"The Samsung Epix provides AT&T customers with the choice of the cutting-edge capabilities of a touchscreen and optical mouse combined with the convenience of a QWERTY keyboard," said Michael Woodward, a vice president at AT&T's wireless unit.
