A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed charges from Mac clone maker Psystar accusing Apple of running a monopoly. Psystar sued Apple in U.S. District Court claiming violations of the Sherman Antitrust Act and the Clayton Antitrust Act.
The Doral, Fla.-based Psystar accused Apple of forcing a tie between the Mac OS X operating system and Apple's hardware in the end-user licensing agreement. Psystar argued that Apple's EULA unlawfully restrained trade by barring users from installing its operating system on non-Apple hardware.

Internet users in the Northeast who have a need for speed will soon be able to get their fix from Comcast. The cable and Internet service provider said it will soon roll out its Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification, or DOCSIS 3.0, making customers' Internet speeds faster.
Comcast's service will be up and running in the next few weeks, according to the company, and will be available to millions of residential homes and businesses in parts of New England, including Boston and southern New Hampshire, plus Philadelphia and New Jersey.

You're not the Republican vice presidential candidate and the governor of Alaska, but you've almost certainly got a free Web-based e-mail address, one of the millions doled out by Yahoo Inc., Google Inc., Microsoft Corp., and many Internet companies.
Federal prosecutors won a guilty plea Thursday from one of 11 men who made up a ring that was charged last month with the largest data theft case in history, involving tens of millions of customers of retailers, including TJX Cos. of Framingham, Mass., and BJ's Wholesale Club of Natick, Mass.
Separately the government also said it has evidence the group breached the security of many more businesses than previously disclosed.

Those deadlines for greening things up are getting closer, and new goals are getting shorter timelines – and this is highlighted by Boston’s mayor Thomas Menino stating that all of the city’s taxis will be hybrid by 2015.
I find it immensely difficult to explain Twitter to individuals and clients who are not currently involved in the platform. In my effort to demystify it, I posted Why Twitter Should Matter To You 101: Olympic Edition last week. In this post I discussed three ways that a newbie could begin to see the value in Twitter using a nice, friendly worldwide event as a reference point.
